Hello,
This projects sounds appealing to me. I am a developer an can contribute about 1-2 hours a week of active programming. I want to take part in this iteresting project.

I would like to hear more:
- What is the current status ?
- SDR documents, and other documenation.
- What is your vision of the result ?
- Release Plans \ Schedules
- And finally, What can I do to help ?

Hi, good to have you here Smiley

Quote
What is the current status ?
We are currently waiting for more free time to start designing and developing the preprojects, and maybe start designing the main engine. A problem is that we don't really have people good at OO software design here (but I'm learning)

SDR documents, and other documenation
??

What is your vision of the result ?
to create a good, flexible, easy (but not dumb-level easy) and open source RTS engine and a succesful accompanying game.

Release Plans \ Schedules
time is not an issue, quality is more important, and like all open source projects we will keep adding features and thingies after version 1.0

And finally, What can I do to help ?
You say you are a developer. Are you a designer, programmer, ...? Can you show some example of your work
And like everyone you can browse around the forum and add your input wherever you see fit Smiley

Well, i finish my B.A. in math and computer science almost three years ago. Since then for the last 2.5 years I have been developing OOP in C++\Java.  during these two years I came to the conclusion that c++ is deprecated :-).

My work is mostly professional closed  source software, though i have a small project in sf, called sdsp (the intentions behind that project is mostly experimenting with things, rather than create a working software).

I hope I can contribute to this project, tough i tend to loose in multiplayer RTS games :-)

btw, i have some friends at work that might be interested in this project as well (we all play AOE2 once in a while...)

Hi! First Welcome!

Glad to see that someone with experience is coming Smiley, because it's exactly what we need!

I'm (and certainly we) very interested by what you're saying about java and C++, because since the beginning we hesitate about which language to use... we chose java for preproject, and you're approving our choice, so it's good Smiley
