This is NOT set in stone (whereas the other is more or less how it will be).  However, it does show several important areas and the approximate distances and sizes.

Tharwain is yellow, the exiled Caeluin state is light green, the loyalist Caeluin state is light blue, the area covered by the Varnost horde is purple, the Nisyrran Empire is red, and the Dwarven Nation is grey.  Green areas are not uninhabited, and not even neutral.  They may be predisposed to allegiance with one faction, but it's not formal.

the label, "Dacadrin", does it point out a specific location on that map, or just that the whole of that map is Dacadrin?

The label points out the approximate area where the Dacadrin originated.  There is still a successor state to the original in the area, but like much of the rest of the region, it's arability has declined and with it, so has its prosperity.

This looks strikingly like Europe. It would be a bit more interesting (to me) and probably a bit disconcerting if the continent had an ocean to the East instead of to the west (assuming that's the perspective from which this map was drawn, it lacks a compass). Or, perhaps to the north, or south? I'm not saying this is bad or anything, I just would like to see a more unusual world (Middle Earth has a sea to the west as well. Another "Europe".

Nothing at this zoom is set in stone (I've moved Caeluin since I drew that one up, for instance).  This map is meant to roughly indicate sizes, locations, and distances.  I also needed some western boundary to Nisyrra, and an ocean was the easy one.

You could move the ocean to the right and use mountains for borders on the other side

Or just flip the entire image Tongue

I'm thinking of making the land on the west side curve around like a horseshoe.  There would still be a water body to the west of Nisyrra, but it would be a sea, not an ocean.

Also, it's important to realize that there IS a southern ocean; the land of the Dacadrin is a huge peninsula where the shore will curve around northward.

I don't really get how you would curve the land to create a sea to the west?

Should have just posted an image to begin with:

That's about 30 seconds of rough work.  Again, just a vague idea, not to be taken as specifics.

Obviously an evolving process. But it is definantly turning out for the better.
